- February 3rd 2005 - DWP issues 5 Year Strategy (chapter 7 has a section on 'Equality for disabled people' and a thorough review of Incapacity Benefit changes)
- January 2005 - Employ-Mend successful in competitive tender to run Absencia pilot within two NHS Trusts
- January 2005 - The Strategy Unit published its long awaited document setting out a 20 year vision for disabled people (Employ-Mend were pleased to have been part of the consultation process on workplace health)
- January 10th 2005 -CIPD issues Recovery, rehabilitation and retention guide - maintaining a productive workforce.
- December 2004 - HSE, Cabinet Office and Department of Work and Pensions publish joint review by the Ministerial Task Force entitled "Managing Sickness Absence in the Public Sector".
- November 16th 2004 - Government White Paper entitled 'Choosing Health' is launched with Chapter 7 on 'Work & Health' setting out the strategy going forward.
- November 2004 - HSE, ACAS and International Stress Management Association launch guide 'Working together-a guide for employees' to coincide with the HSE Management Standards on Stress
- October 2004 - DWP publishes a document "Building Capacity for Work a UK Framework for Vocational Rehabilitation" citing Absencia as one of the "Strategies, Initiatives and Projects".
- September 2004 - initial Absencia pilot completes first year with an indicated 40% plus reduction in absence rates/costs.
- September 2004 - HSE issue a guide for managing sickness absence in the Small Medium Enterprise sector
